This is a sampler quilt of blocks and techniques. Making this quilt will teach you techniques that will challenge quilters of all levels. We will be making blocks that use y-seam construction, appliqué, and paper piecing. All along the way, you will learn tricks of the professional quilter to make this and future quilts easier to make.

With this sampler, you will learn:
– 3 different types of machine appliqué
– 5 different ways to paper-piece a block
– How to draft a block
– How to make perfectly butted seams
– Y-seam construction
– How to work with templates
– Expert fabric selection

You can ask questions and of course bring your show-and-tell of blocks that you’ve completed. There will be coffee and donut holes to snack on. And, at the end of the program there is a show-and-tell of your finished block-of-the-month.

You will receive a 10% discount on class supplies plus 10% on the day of class.

You must notify us AT LEAST 3 DAYS prior to class. For our QUILTING 101 class you must cancel at least ONE WEEK (7 DAYS) prior to the first class.

Refunds will be given ONLY IF the student requirement has been met OR you can fill the spot with another student.

Refunds WILL NOT be given if you haven’t notified us or just don’t show up for class. NO EXCEPTIONS!

If for any reason the instructor cancels you will most certainly get a refund.

You are important, as is everyone in class. Your phone calls…well..not so much to other students. Please turn your phone to vibrate or why not take a little break and turn it off. If you must make a phone call, please do so outside.

Would we be quilters if snacks weren’t involved? Food and drink are allowed in the classroom. Please be sure to keep the tables clean so someone else’s project isn’t compromised by your Nachos Supreme and sugar free vanilla iced latte. 🙂SEWING MACHINES
You must be familiar with your sewing machine and it must be in good working order. Instructors are here to teach, not to take time away from other students to troubleshoot your machine. We do not rent machines at this time.

Some classes require pre-class work (usually noted on the supply list if there is one). If you class calls for this, please make every effort to get it done. This allows more time to actually work on your project AND to ask questions if you need clarification on something.

You can park in any designated spot you’d like in front of the shop. If you are parking BEHIND the shop, there are 3 spaces FACING THE WOODEN FENCE. The sign in front of the space MUST SAY “GUEST PARKING”. If it’s doesn’t, do not park there!

Classes are meant to teach you something you don’t know, to brush up on things you do, but most of all to be fun! Please be mindful of conversations that might not make these things possible to the students around you.
